Class Descriptions

A vital component to everyone's daily routine, yoga not only increases flexibility, fluidity, and strength in the body -- creating long and lean muscles, but also helps to quiet the mind as we are pulled by the different and often competing demands of human life.

Open Level: A dynamic and fluid system focusing on coordinating breath with movement. Poses are linked together to create a flowing practice which stretches, strengthens and tones your body, inside and out. Taught in a non-competitive environment, variations for all levels of students are offered, allowing students to work at their own pace. Some basic knowledge of yoga poses and alignment is recommended.

Powerflow Yoga: Explore and go to your edge with this vigorous, athletic class emphasizing cardiovascular fitness and core strength. Prepare to sweat. Basic knowledge of yoga poses and alignment strongly recommended.

Evening Vinyasa Flow: Evening Vinyasa Flow offers a well balanced Vinyasa based yoga class for new and intermediate yoga practitioners. Class includes breathing exercises and is infused with uplifting music.

Advanced:  If you have practiced for some time and have a solid understanding of the poses taught in the Intermediate/Advanced class, but wish you could practice more thoroughly the more challenging poses, arm balances and inversions, this is your chance.  Taught in a workshop setting, advanced poses are taught in a more detailed manner to keep you safe and confident.

Yinyasa Yoga:   A strong practice consisting of "vinyasa flow" to warm-up the body, followed by static strength/core building and flexibility/release inducing poses held for an extended period of time with the addition of yoga props.  This is a way to improve posture, stamina, muscle tone and safe range of motion. This class offers a full body/mind/spirit experience on the mat that challenges ALL levels of practice and meets practitioner’s unique needs. 

Prenatal Yoga: Designed to meet the needs of pregnant women. Strengthen, stretch and relax your body, ease your mind and connect with your growing baby in a safe and supportive environment. You'll feel inspired and nourished in a community of women sharing the experience of pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Classes will help to ease discomfort, prepare for birth, and help mothers incorporate yoga principles into everyday life with children.

Postnatal Mom/Baby Yoga: Strengthen your body while meeting new mothers and babies. This postnatal class will offer you an opportunity to playfully bond with your baby while helping you to get your postpartum body back in shape. During class you will learn basic yoga poses and exercises that engage the babies throughout the class, and benefit from being a happier and healthier mom. This multilevel class focuses on restoring integrity of the pelvic floor, establishing core strength, regaining alignment and strengthening key muscle groups. Babies age 5 weeks up to crawling are welcome. Moms can also come without their babies too!

Teen Yoga:  A great introduction to yoga for girls through a playful flow class that will focus on developing flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness.  Segments on meditation and breathing wil promote relaxation, stress-reduction, and connection with the inner self. 

Barre Inspired Vinayasa Flow:  A vinyasa style class with barre inspiration to help challenge your core, balance and strengthen upper body.
